Big Bad Breakfast opening in West Little Rock June 21
A good breakfast is always met with anticipation, as it should be. When word got out that Big Bad Breakfast — the venerable breakfast-themed restaurant founded in Oxford by James Beard award winner John Currence —was coming to West Little Rock, it seemed like Little Rock had been waiting on this news for years. Currence opened the first Big Bad Breakfast in 2008. Now it’s a breakfast staple with locations all over the Southeastern U.S. The new Little Rock location, Arkansas’s first, is located at 101 S. Bowman Road. It seats 116 indoors, with 12 additional seats outside. The restaurant will also feature a full-service bar. It will be open from 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. daily.
Ben Brainard, formerly of Yellow Rocket Concepts, is Big Bad Breakfast’s operating partner for the state of Arkansas. We asked him how his team is preparing for an opening with so much anticipation.
“There is a lot of anticipation and we’re really excited about the buzz around town,” Brainard said. “The management team and I, we’ve worked for three months talking about the logistics of making this work. We concentrated on building the most efficient and welcoming restaurant we could, and we really knocked it out of the park in that regard. Thankfully all of us are pretty seasoned in this business, so we anticipate being 100% ready.”
“I can’t get enough of the Rock,” John Currence said in a press release. “I have built so many amazing friendships and partnerships that I cannot wait to get up and running so I can be here more. We could not have wished for better partners in Little Rock.”
Big Bad Breakfast is hiring in anticipation of their June launch.
Big Bad Breakfast is currently hiring to fill all front and back of house positions, seeking to employ 55 new staff members. Employment applications can be filled out in person at the Big Bad Breakfast location Monday, May 23rd- Friday, May 27th, 9 am-4 pm, submitted online through the main website or through the Facebook page.
