Detroit Lions game vs. Chicago Bears: How to watch Thanksgiving matchup
When: 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
Where: Ford Field in Detroit.
TV/radio: Fox; WXYT-FM (97.1; other radio affiliates).
Line: Bears by 3½.
BRING BACK DARING DAN: Detroit Lions must be bold to snap winless streak
Game notes: The Lions get a battered Bears team dealing with rumors of a coach on the hot seat and a five-game losing streak. Not only that, but starting quarterback Justin Fields, who helped the Bears beat the Lions in Week 4, will miss the game with a rib injury suffered Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Former Pro Bowler Andy Dalton, who won the quarterback job to begin the season but was first injured, then demoted, will start Thursday. The Bears are also without LB Khalil Mack, DE Akiem Hicks and RB Damien Williams. Former Orchard Lake St. Mary’s star receiver Allen Robinson missed last week’s 16-13 loss to the Lamar Jackson-less Ravens and is listed as doubtful.
Detroit may get quarterback Jared Goff back, though he, along with DE Michael Brockers, is listed as questionable. The Lions will definitely be without LB Trey Flowers, OL Matt Nelson and CB A.J. Parker, among others. But the Lions are a narrow underdog, illustrating the lack of confidence in the Bears and the predicted tightness of the rivalry. Before Chicago won the Oct. 3 matchup against the Lions in Chicago by 10, the previous five games in the series were decided by a touchdown or less.
