An official with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department said one person has died after a fight inside an apartment escalated to a shooting early Thursday morning. Officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 7600 block of Monroe Avenue just before 3 a.m. to investigate a reported shooting.Police found a man who had been shot and attempted first aid and life-saving measures on the scene. The man was rushed to an area hospital where he died a few hours later. He was identified on Tuesday as Edwin Cox Jr., 28. Police said investigators believe a fight between people in a single apartment led to that homicide.
