A man is dead after taking his own life in a standoff with Jackson County deputies.Sheriff Darryl Forté says deputies first approached the man at a home on Woodbury Drive at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in order to investigate a report of a wanted person.Forté says the suspect barricaded himself inside the building, leading to six hours of negotiation. Deputies eventually entered the building and found the man dead from a self-inflicted wound.The sheriff is not naming the suspect at this time.
