Nets assistant Ime Udoka among Celtics' head coaching candidates: report
According to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Celtics head coach-turned-team president Brad Stevens has begun getting permission to speak with head coaching candidates, including Nets assistant Ime Udoka.
Per Wojnarowski, the Celtics have also sought permission to talk to Clippers assistant Chauncey Billups, Bucks assistants Darvin Ham and Charles Lee, and Mavs assistant Jamahl Mosley.
Both Udoka and Mosley interviewed with the Knicks last season before the team ultimately hired Tom Thibodeau.
The 43-year-old Udoka was hired by the Nets in October 2020, after previous assistant stops with the 76ers and Spurs.
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Udoka played parts of seven seasons in the NBA, including three years with San Antonio and one year with the Knicks in 2005-06, though he appeared in eight games and averaged just over 14 minutes per game.
