TULSA, Okla. — Two people are dead after a car crash in south Tulsa early Tuesday morning.

Tulsa police say just after 2 a.m. a car caught fire after crashing near 81st Street and Yale.

Captain Jerrod Hart told FOX23 when officers got to the scene the car was engulfed in flames and parallel to the ground.

TPD says two people died inside the car.

Nearby roads were blocked off for a few hours as firefighters worked to stabilize the car.

While the cause is still under investigation, Hart says he believes the car was speeding when it hit the Vintage Apartments entrance, then crashed into a brick wall.
