Wall Street Journal-Times Higher Education ranks TU best in Oklahoma – The University of Tulsa

The University of Tulsa is Oklahoma’s top academic institution according to the 2018 Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education U.S. College Rankings. TU ranked in the 16th percentile — No. 170 out of more than 1,000 research universities and liberal arts colleges.

“TU understands how critical the college selection process is for students seeking personal attention and professional success,” said university President Gerard Clancy. “Our faculty and administration are committed to empowering future generations to fulfill their potential through a well-rounded education.”

The University of Tulsa curriculum emphasizes self-discovery and critical thinking in addition to technical skills and experiential learning. TU students hail from more than 60 countries, giving the campus a diverse cultural feel, and many U.S. students choose to travel abroad for classes and internships. The university also provides students with dozens of opportunities to participate in community service and global outreach through the True Blue Neighbors initiative.

The WSJ/THE report is compiled using performance indicators designed to answer the most important questions for students and families. The list includes the results of THE’s U.S. Student Survey, examining key issues such as students’ engagement with their studies, interaction with faculty and satisfaction of their college experience. The overall ranking is based on 15 factors across four categories: student outcomes, graduate salaries, student engagement and diversity of students and staff.
